Benjamin Magoun, CFP®
Wealth Advisor
Ben grew up in Hanover, Massachusetts, and attended Hanover High School. He received a BS, double-majoring in business management and information systems science, from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. Ben started in the financial services industry in 2004 with American Express Financial Advisors, which later became Ameriprise Financial. He joined Fitzwilliam Financial in April 2007, before launching Strategic Financial Alliance in January 2025. His registrations include the FINRA General Securities Representative (Series 7) and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination (Series 66), as well as life, accident, and health insurance licenses. Ben is a Registered Representative and an Investment Advisor Representative with Commonwealth Financial Network®. He received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification through Boston University and his Professional Plan Consultant designation through FI360.
Ben is very active in fund-raising for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Greater New England Chapter and the National MS Cape Cod Getaway group, "Liam's Lucky Charms," of which he is a board member. Liam’s Lucky Charms has raised more than $2 million for the Multiple Sclerosis Society since 2009. Currently, the group is the largest MS friends and family fundraising group in the country.
Ben and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Kingston with their daughter, Liliana, and sons Braeden and Declan. They love the outdoors and spend time (a lot less now with three little ones) fishing, scuba diving, kayaking, and hiking. You will likely see them in and around Duxbury and Kingston Harbor on most summer weekends, and doing whatever the kids are doing the rest of the year. When Ben is not working or spending time with his wife and kids, he really enjoys working with his hands, "trying" to build or fix things, mostly his boat.
Mike Fitzwilliam
Wealth Advisor
Mike grew up in Canton, Massachusetts, graduating from Canton High in 1963. He graduated from Stonehill College in 1967 with a BS in accounting. His financial career includes 13 years as a Certified Public Accountant at the international accounting firm Price Waterhouse in its Boston, Providence, and New York offices. From 1980 to 1982, Mike was the vice president and comptroller for the publicly held Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), The Equitable Life Mortgage and Real Estate Investors, in Boston. After the REIT was acquired by Equitable Life, Mike joined Winthrop Financial, a Boston firm specializing in real estate limited partnerships, and worked structuring and subsequently selling those interests. Having obtained the necessary securities registrations, Mike found that he enjoyed working with individuals and small businesses and wanted to work independently to assist clients to pursue their goals.
Since 1986, Mike has continuously served his clients' interests. Fitzwilliam Financial was initially located on Congress Street in Boston on a boat on the Fort Point Channel. In 2000, Fitzwilliam Financial moved to his hometown of Canton.
Mike and his late wife, Charlene, had three children. Kerry and Nadine are both married and living in Natick and Quincy, respectively. They each have two children. Their youngest daughter, Michele, currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
Mike is an avid sports enthusiast and had the thrill of attending the last two 2004 games of the Red Sox in Boston against the Yankees and the seventh game in New York that completed the improbable comeback. Unfortunately, he also had the pleasure (?) of visiting Michele in Los Angeles in October 2009 and attending the two Red Sox losses in playoff games to the Angels in Anaheim and coming home to be at the third loss in Boston, as the Red Sox were eliminated from the playoffs. He is an active golfer and has the unusual history of playing golf right-handed for more than 40 years and switching to playing left-handed since 2002. Improvement in his game occurred but there is room for much more!
Mike holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities registrations and is a Registered Representative with Commonwealth Financial Network®.
