Ty Rocheleau, CFP^®

Ty Rocheleau grew up in Vermont and attended Essex High School just outside of Burlington. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston. While at URI, Ty was the founding treasurer for the Delta Chi fraternity chapter, a member of the URI Ram Fund as a financial analyst, and supervisor of the URI Trading Room in Ballentine Hall.

Ty then began his financial services career in 2006 at Commonwealth Financial Network, the broker/dealer and registered investment adviser for Strategic Financial Alliance. He initially joined the Compensation department before transitioning into Compliance, where he obtained the Series 4, 7, 24, 53, and 66. While in Compliance, Ty helped develop the Compliance Consulting Team that would grow from being one consultant to a team of over a dozen consultants operating on both coasts to be able to better serve Commonwealth advisors. During this time, Ty moved to San Diego and eventually would join the Audit team, where he visited with branch offices nationwide to consult on regulatory requirements, Commonwealth policies, operational best practices, and business strategies.

Ty then earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) certification and would go onto becoming Compliance Program Manager. In this role, he oversaw the Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJ) program and Commonwealth’s Senior Advisor program, which supports affiliated practices in training, developing, and scaling their advisor teams. Eventually, after helping Commonwealth practices add and develop hundreds of new advisors, Ty transitioned into his current role as Wealth Advisor with Strategic Financial Alliance.

Ty lives in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston where he’s able to make the most of his love for Boston sports and enjoy the city’s diverse culinary options. Outside of work, Ty enjoys traveling, camping in his conversion van, and spending time outdoors. He frequently returns to Vermont to visit family and enjoy the region’s beauty.
